Having grown pumpkin, at Lyburn, for some 40 years now, the season runs from August to Christmas. Lyburn Farm is situated on the northern edge of the New Forest, on the Hampshire Wiltshire borders, between the villages of Nomansland, Hamptworth, and Landford and extends to approximately 500 acres. We grow a range of Pumpkin and Squash, some organic and some non-organic. The squash varieties we grow are Crown Prince, Kabocha (Hokkaido), and Acorn. Occasionally some more exotic varieties.
Lyburn Farmhouse Cheesemakers
Lyburn farm makes a variety of different hand made cheeses, all of which are made from our own cows milk. Although they are pressed, these artisan cheeses are not that close to cheddar cheese. They are, in general, a softer and a more continental type of cheese, with the exception of Old Winchester and Old Smales. The Lyburn Gold, is where we start and details of this cheese and all the others can be found on the next page headed ‘Cheeses’.
